The new wind farm will be built off the coast of Delaware, about 12 miles off the coast. That should decrease the visual distraction significantly as well as help capture those roaring atlantic breezes that average about twice that of on-land wind speeds. The field will be composed of about 150 turbines and will produce enough electricity to power about 100,000 homes at peak output.

From the page: "Homi Kharas, a researcher at the Brookings Institution, estimates that by 2020, the world's middle class will grow to include a staggering 52% of the total population, up from 30% now. The middle class will almost double in the poor countries where sustained economic growth is fast lifting people above the poverty line. While this is, of course, good news, it also means humanity will have to adjust to unprecedented pressures."
